Synopsis
Chemical engineering mainly refers to projects conducted to install and expand production capacity and upgrade technologies. International engineering is a comprehensive way of international economic cooperation and a kind of international technical trade as well as international labor service cooperation. It is characterized by multi-national contractual subjects, multiple methods of payment, increased influences from international politics and economy as well as complex and different standards.
In 2016, the fixed asset investment of chemical industry in China totaled to CNY 1,475.3 billion, down by 1.6% YOY. The sales revenue was CNY 8,770.71 billion, up by 5.6% YOY. Generally, the development of chemical industry in China is conducive to the chemical engineering industry.
In 2015, the business revenue of overseas contracted projects in China amounted to CNY 959.6 billion, increasing by 8.25% YOY. The amount of new contracts was CNY 1,308.4 billion, increasing by 9.5% YOY, pushing the export of equipment and materials up to USD 16.13 billion. Meanwhile, Chinese enterprises signed 3,987 overseas contracted projects with 60 countries along the One Belt and One Road, with a total amount of USD 92.64 billion. It took up 44.1% of the total value of overseas contracted projects, up by 7.4% YOY. Its business revenue reached USD 69.26 billion, which took up 45% of the total revenue, up by 7.6% YOY.
CRI estimates that in 2021, the amount of China's new overseas contracted projects will reach USD 350 billion and the revenue will be USD 280 billion.
